About

Hey,John Etherton

You’ve reached the web page of John Etherton. I currently work for Georgia Tech (GT) as the project manager for Liberia. I work in country, and I am based in Monrovia, Liberia. Our main focus at the moment is to study the effects of technology on reconciliation in a post-conflict country. We’ve partnered with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia to create their website and assists with their other it needs. To learn more about all the other exciting projects GT works on here check out this page. In my spare time I surf, camp, explorer, travel, socialize, fellowship, and engage in a little entrepreneurship.

I setup up this site to journal my adventures as I avoid getting a real job, and seek to contribute to society in some small way. I hope to publicize causes that are worth while, and to inspire others to take the road less traveled. I might even boast a little about the stuff God has blessed me with the chance to do. I plan to keep my friends and family up to date through this site. I’ll also use this space to make public any programs I write or general knowledge that will contribute to the internet community. Though I doubt such posts will happen as often as I’d like.

I’d be nice too if someone finds this site, thinks, “man that’s a sharp kid” and hires me to do some cool freelance computer work in a developing location. Not getting a real job doesn’t pay super great… though it is a lot of fun.

If you have any comments, questions, or critiques please let me know, john.etherton@gmail.com.

I hope you enjoy the site,

John
